Why Types Of Biometrics Are Most Commonly Used For Authentication?
October 26th, 2008 | by admin |I am trying to find out more information about biometric authentication. I really like this idea since it sounds so much more secure than passwords. I do know that some people are worried about their biometric data being stored somewhere and possibly misused. What types of biometrics are most commonly used for authentication? I know that fingerprints are used a lot, but I am not sure what else is actually being used. Are there really companies that use retina scans like in the movies? I have heard they were developing voice print and signature biometric systems, and would love to find out what is actually being used now. Also, I have heard of multimodal biometric authentication - what is this process? Is it more advanced than normal biometric security?
