What is Computer Memory?

All computer systems that we know of will need computer memory. So… just what is  computer memory  anyway? The term computer memory can refer to either of two things- the RAM or random access memory, where computer data is stored temporarily and mass storage (such as in hard drives), where data is more or less permanently stored. Computer data storage made possible by computer memory allows a computer to perform whatever it is supposed to do. Memory is essentially an integral component of computers and is necessary for the concept of computing in general
