Try Data Recovery Shareware First
December 10th, 2007 | by admin |There are a number of hard drive data recovery services and there is data recovery software that will try to recover data that has been lost from your computer, but before you pay for software or a service, you may want to try a free shareware program. Here are a couple you might want to investigate:
Recover My Files Shareware: Is a software to recover deleted files containing documents, graphics, digital camera photographs, zip files, emails, music, video, etc. It can even recover files that have been emptied from the recycle bin, from a disk which is formatted, or from data loss caused by either virus infections or a system crash. It utilizes a simple four step wizard. The software scans the selected files and searches them in every sector of the hard drive.
The trial version of the software just displays the status of the files discovered, and the chances of recovery. It does not allow you to recover any file. The fully operational version is available at a price of $69.95.
DiskInternals Flash Recovery: This software lets you recover the formatted or lost picture images from external drives, hard drives, flash memory devices, cameras, etc. The user just has to select the drive to scan, and the software will display the thumbnails of the images that can be recovered. But the actual recovery is not possible with the trial version. You need to purchase the full software at a cost of $39.95.
