Freeware Software - It’s not just for game demos anymore!

You would install it and play it and then, after two or three levels, you would have to go out and buy it to play the rest of the game. Freeware schmeeware - it was only a teaser! Now, businesses are using all kinds of freeware software for mission-critical applications, such as viewing business intelligence reports - their are quite a few rpt viewers out there for viewing .rpt files, for example. .rpt is the file extension for Crystal Reports files - and many businesses find they can get along just fine with the freeware viewers (of course, you create the files with the more expensive enterprise versions of Crystal Reports and Crystal Decisions).
