When my wife and I moved into our first home nearly 14 years ago, the last thing on our mind was that we would be the victim of a break-in. The street we lived on was quiet, peaceful, and relatively crime-free — or so we thought. One afternoon, while we were both away at our jobs, someone blatantly kicked down our front door and ransacked various parts of our home. Gone were a few of our prized possessions as well as our confidence in people. Within two days there was Surveillance Cameras installed at various points around our home. It was a sad day when I put them up, but now we feel safer.
