At work, we used Decision matrix to determine next steps for common scenarios in the plant. Like for instance if the machine breaks down mechanically call mechanic, if troubleshooting lasts up to 2 hours call mechanical supervisor, and also production manager for other options. There is also decision making from the standpoint of wants and needs. Needs weigh more and are prioritized over wants.
