How To Webcast - Looking At How Webcasting Works

March 6th, 2008 | by admin |

Webcasting is a name given to the process by which audio or a combination of video and audio can be broadcast over the internet to a number of viewers or listeners over the web, either live or on demand.

How to webcast? The first step is recording the actual content that is to be distributed. Once that is done, the content is converted to a format that is capable of being streamed over the internet by using software. Once the content is converted to a streaming friendly digital format, then it is hosted on a webcast hosting server.

This is just a simplified view of the main steps in webcast production and transmission.

A number of companies undertake webcast production and hosting. One such company, which is involved with content production and delivery, is Unikron Inc.
