CAD Software Design Process

December 28th, 2007 | by admin |

Cad design software can beneficially be used in four phases of the design process. The four phases, together with CAD activity that corresponds to the phase given in parentheses, are: Synthesis; Analysis and optimizatio; Evaluation; Presentation. Analysis and optimization, or engineering analysis, is the analysis may take form of stress-strain calculations, heat transfer analysis, or dynamic simulation. The availability of software for CA engineering analysis on auto cad software greatly increase the designer’s ability to perform more through analysis of proposed design. Examples: mass properties and finite-element analysis. Some of CAD features that are helpful in evaluating and reviewing a proposed design include: Automatic dimensioning routing; Interference checking routing; Kinematics routing. CAD can be used as automated drafting machines to prepare highly accurate engineering drawing quickly.
